Wizz Air will launch direct flights between Prague and Yerevan
YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will launch regular flights between Armenian and Czech capitals Yerevan and Prague from June 26, 2023, Valeria Bragarenko, a representative of the airline, said at a press conference on Tuesday.
The flights will be operated twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
"Cooperation between Armenia and Wizz Air began in 2020, when the first Yerevan-Vienna-Yerevan flight was launched. Since then and until now, we have transported more than 400 thousand passengers and our market share has grown to 12%," she said.
Bragarenko stressed that Wizz Air flies from Yerevan to 8 countries and 9 destinations, including Vienna, Larnaca, Milan, Rome, Venice and Abu Dhabi, and from April 30 it will fly also to Sofia and Dortmund.
"People can visit Yerevan with inexpensive tickets and discover this beautiful country and its culture. New offers can appear, new jobs can be created in tourism-related industries. We are glad to be here and this is indeed a new market for us. We're glad to see development here," she said.
Bragarenko said the airline continues to work to increase its share in the Armenian market, open new destinations from Armenia.
"In the next 2.5-3 years we plan to open three more directions to different countries. Armenia has a lot to offer both to Europeans and people from other countries," she believes.

It operates mainly in the countries of Central Europe with bases at the airports of Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia, the Republic of Macedonia and Moldova.
