UTaxi LLC has asked Armenia's State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition and the State Revenue Committee to halt the operations of a rival Bolt services AM LLC, a company which is connected with the Estonian Bolt electronic platform for taxi orders.
YEREVAN, March 3. / ARKA /. UTaxi LLC has asked Armenia's State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition and the State Revenue Committee to halt the operations of a rival Bolt services AM LLC, a company which is connected with the Estonian Bolt electronic platform for taxi orders. The latter entered the Armenian market in January 2020.
UTaxi LLC claims that Bolt services has violated a number of norms stipulated by Armenian legislation, including some provisions of the Tax Code.
UTaxi said it had informed the rival company about unfair competition offering it to eliminate it, however, Bolt services not only failed to comply with the request, but also strengthened its position in the local market by lowering taxi prices and providing drivers with dubious bonuses.
According to UTaxi, the discounts and incentives offered by Bolt services (the passenger pays only half the cost of the trip and the rest is covered by the company itself) are a clear manifestation of the anticompetitive agreement in order to prevent the activities of other companies, thereby violating the terms of fair competition.
The company also said that acting on their application the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition initiated administrative proceedings on February 28. --0--
