YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. The cuisine and culture of Vayots Dzor can be seen and tasted in one place – at the "Under the Walnut Tree" Guesthouse in Yeghegnadzor.
For eight years, Lilit Khalatyan, founder of the "Under the Walnut Tree" Guesthouse, has been hosting hundreds of guests at her guesthouse, introducing traditional dishes and customs of Vayots Dzor and organizing master classes. Tourists from various countries can also sample homemade vodka and wine on site.
The "Under the Walnut Tree" Guesthouse is one of the beneficiaries of the "Rural Tourism Development" program, implemented by the ACBA Federation and NABU Armenia. The guesthouse was renovated with the grant funds. Lilit also participated in business courses for aspiring entrepreneurs organized by Acba Bank, which also helped her take her first steps in the hospitality business.
"The course was very motivating. At the initial stage, when I was inexperienced, it had a significant and positive impact on me. We renovated the guest hall as part of a program jointly implemented by the Acba Federation and NABU. We host guests here in the winter, in cold weather. We can accommodate 20-30 people at a time. There are always challenges in business, and there are stages when nothing works out, but you shouldn't despair; you must constantly move forward," Khalatyan noted.
Lilit has big goals: she wants to expand her territory and welcome even more tourists to her hospitable corner.
