YEREVAN, February 26. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has adopted draft amendments that will establish new oversight tools for the certification of automobile gas cylinders.
"Due to a lack of oversight, unscrupulous companies often enter data into the database without proper certification or even without providing the service. To mitigate these risks, it is proposed to supplement the existing procedure with mandatory video recording of the gas cylinder certification process," said Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, emphasizing that video recordings must be stored for at least six months.
According to him, this will allow the ministry to audit the work of licensed organizations, identify deficiencies, mitigate risks, and create grounds for taking action against unscrupulous commercial entities.
The Deputy Minister recalled that a similar system has already been implemented in the technical supervision sector, resulting in the suspension of the licenses of approximately two dozen companies.
Simonyan also noted that approximately 130,000 automobile gas cylinders are inspected annually.
