Survey: merely 19% of Armenians view themselves as financially literate
YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. Only one in five individuals in Armenia feels assured about their understanding of finance and investments. This finding is supported by a survey conducted in the Telegram channel "Finiki" on August 21-22, which involved 1,051 participants.
The survey results indicate that: 19% of those surveyed believe they possess the skills to manage money and invest; 41% acknowledged having a general understanding of finances, albeit with some gaps; 17% confessed they are in the early stages of learning; 10% lack fundamental skills entirely and wish to grasp the basics; 13% revealed that they do not prioritize financial literacy and adhere to the mindset of "spend, and let the future take care of itself."
Experts from the ARKA news agency emphasize that the survey findings highlight the urgent need to enhance financial literacy within the community. Despite an increasing interest in the subject, only a small fraction feels competent in handling personal finances.-0-
