Stars Coffee to open first foreign coffee shop in Armenia

Stars Coffee, a  new chain of coffee shops that has replaced Seattle-based Starbucks in Russia, plans to open establishments abroad, with about 20 locations on its "waiting list," rapper Timur Yunusov (Timati), the chain's co-owner, told reporters on Thursday.

YEREVAN, Sept. 8. /ARKA/. Stars Coffee, a new chain of coffee shops that has replaced Seattle-based Starbucks in Russia, plans to open establishments abroad, with about 20 locations on its "waiting list," rapper Timur Yunusov (Timati), the chain's co-owner, told reporters on Thursday.

The other co-owner of the chain Anton Pinsky said the first foreign coffee shops owned by Stars Coffee is expected to open in Armenia.

"We plan to develop abroad, because the demand is huge from different corners - requests have come from Asia, the Middle East, and even European countries," Yunusov said at a press conference dedicated to the opening of Stars Coffee coffeehouses in St. Petersburg, TASS reported.

According to Pinsky, of foreign countries Armenia will probably be the first to open a Stars Coffee shop. "They basically got in line before we even opened anything," he added.

Rapper Timur Yunusov (Timati), businessman Anton Pinsky and Sindika company had purchased the assets of the American coffee chain Starbucks in partnership.

On March 8, Starbucks announced that it was temporarily suspending all business activity, including product deliveries, in Russia due to the Ukraine conflict. On May 23, the company announced its decision to withdraw from the Russian market. --0—
