Armenia’s State Revenue Committee has thwarted an illegal export of a batch of cigarettes to Russia.
YEREVAN, February 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee has thwarted an illegal export of a batch of cigarettes to Russia.
According to a SRC statement, the batch was discovered in a truck that was about to cross into Georgia through Bagratashen customs check point.
According to the transit declaration, the truck was loaded with fresh grapes. The cigarettes were discovered after the truck was X-rayed.
The SRC said most of the crates in which the goods were transported had double bottoms. During the inspection, customs officers found goods hidden from customs inspection - 303,460 packs of cigarettes.
Also, some of the packs had fake excise stamps, while the bulk lacked them at all. -0-
