YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. South Korea is interested in Armenia’s natural resources, Ong Wan Suk, the director of the Korean Center for Slavic-Eurasian Studies, said today during an Armenian-Korean conference.

"Armenia has large reserves of gold, silver and copper. South Korea produces cars, smart phones, batteries, and raw materials for these products are available in Armenia.,’ - Ong Wan Suk said.

According to him,  though there is no sustainable economic growth in Armenia, it can be attractive for Korean businessmen. "Low prices of goods and cheap labor force  can attract Korean businessman," - he said.

He said also that Armenia can provide Korea with an access to the Iranian market, since Armenia has never had serious differences with Tehran, and Iran has a large Armenian community.

The trade turnover between Armenia and Korea in 2015 was estimated at about $45 million. -0--
