YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. Some roads in Armenia are closed for traffic, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Tuesday morning.

It said that the road from the high-mountain meteorological station Amberd to the same name fortress and to the Kari lich lake in the Aragatsotn region is closed.

It said also citing emergency and internal affairs ministries of Georgia and Russia that the Stepantsminda-Upper Lars highway is closed for trucks due to heavy snowfall. Drivers are advised to use exclusively winter tires.

The Upper Lars checkpoint located on the Stepantsminda-Lars highway on Russian-Georgian border is the only land route from Armenia to Russia. Due to weather conditions (snowfall, landslides), the road is often closed for traffic causing huge traffic congestion. –0--
