Service sector in Armenia grew by 5.2% to AMD 473.1 bln in 2 months of 2024
YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. Armenia’s services sector amounted to 473.1 billion drams (in current prices) in January-February 2024, increasing by 5.2% compared to the same period of 2023, the National Statistical Committee said.
In February 2024 alone, the sector grew by 258 billion drams, an increase of 2.4% compared to February of last year.
Financial and insurance activities grew to 148.8 billion drams, up 16.5% compared to the same period 2023.
Information and communication sector amounted to 90.7 billion drams, 0.2% decrease, transport sector grew to 51.5 billion drams (15.4% decrease), accommodation and catering services grew to 43 billion drams (6.9% increase), and culture, entertainment and recreation services were up 3.2% to 42.5 billion drams.
Also, health care and social security services increased by 10.3% to 22.9 billion drams, professional, scientific and technical services increased by 12.6% to 21.5 billion drams.
Real estate related services showed an 8.8% growth to 20.7 billion drams, administrative and auxiliary services increased by 5.4% to 14.9 billion drams, and education services increased by 6.3% to 67.7 bimillion drams. ($1 - AMD 388.47) -
