Regulator: an attempt was made to illegally sell nearly 1,000 kg of horse meat in Armenia
YEREVAN, December 30. /ARKA/. Authorities in Armenia have successfully intercepted an attempt to illegally sell a significant quantity of horse meat—almost 1,000 kg, according to the Food Safety Inspectorate.
"During inspections conducted in the Gegharkunik region, inspectors uncovered a substantial amount of horse meat of unknown origin. Reports indicate that there were plans to distribute it in the vicinity of the Yerevan GUM market and in the city of Vanadzor," the regulator stated in their announcement.
Thanks to swift operational measures, the sale of meat and meat products lacking proper origin documentation was halted. The 965 kg of horse meat that was found has been confiscated and destroyed under the watchful eye of inspectors.-0-
