Qatar Airways operates Monday its first flight from Yerevan to Doha

YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA/. Qatar Airways operated Monday its first flight from Yerevan to Doha.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Hugh Dunleavy, speaking at the ceremony dedicated to this event, said Yerevan-Doha-Yerevan flights will be operated regularly – four times a week. 

In his words, prices for tickets will be competitive and passengers will enjoy three-hour comfortable flights to Doha on Airbus 320 board. 

He stressed that a wide range of services, from a multiple-choice menu to entertainment, is at passengers' disposal here. 

Dunleavy said that Qatar Airways will have an office with seven officers in Yerevan, but if the business is successful, the company will increase the number of the personnel by employing local people.

The number of flights, he said, will be increased as well.  

The Qatar Airways chief commercial officer said that Armenia is located on Europe-Asia crossroad, and therefore it has a chance to become a transit aviation hub. 

Dunleavy also said that an average age of liners at Qatar Airways doesn't exceed five years. He noted that the company is buying new aircrafts every ten days. At the moment Qatar Airways ordered liners of over $70 billion total cost.
