Mobile trading points in Yerevan to pay duty
YEREVAN, January 24. /ARKA/. Armenia's National Assembly has approved today in the second and final reading a set of amendments to the law On Trade and Services, which set duties on  mobile trading  points in Yerevan.

According to the adopted amendments, the Yerevan Municipality is vested with the authority  to determine the places where mobile trading points can be set up and their working hours.

The amendments ban setting up mobile trading points near central squares, buildings which are national and cultural heritage, as well as state institutions. The size of the paid duty will be 50 thousand drams (about $104) per month.

The argument in favor of the amendments is that there is no regulation in this area, and often entrepreneurs provide services with a gross violation of sanitary conditions.

Sisak Gabrielyan, an MP from the ruling My Step parliamentary faction, who authored the amendments, said some mobile trading points may receive permission of the mayor's office to leave their vehicles in their places for three days in evening time.

Prior to the vote, Ani Samsonyan from the Bright Armenia party, which is opposed to the amendments, said their adoption would either lead to the monopolization of the mobile trading market or its complete destruction. -0-
