The Armenian government has passed a decision today to extend the concessional agreement of the national postal operator HayPost for another 9 months.

YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has passed a decision today to extend the concessional agreement of the national postal operator HayPost for another 9 months.

Transport, communications and information technology minister Vahan Martirosyan said the concessional management of the Armenian national postal operator was handed to Haypost Trust Management, belonging to Argentinean businessman Eduardo Eurnekian, in 2006 for a period of 5 years and since then the agreement has been extended every five years. The current agreement expires on 30 November 2016.

HayPost CJSC is the official national postal operator of the Republic of Armenia which provides postal, payment and retail services. HayPost currently operates through 900 of its postal offices across Armenia, from urban to the most remote rural regions.

The purpose of the Trust Management is to make HayPost increasingly commercial, transparent, efficient and accountable for its customers in Armenia and abroad. The sole shareholder of CJSC Haypost is the Transport, communications and information technology. -0-
