YEREVAN, September 14. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia approved today the release of 182 million drams to 37 border villages. The money will be spent on financing agriculture development.
Agriculture Minister Artur Khachatryan said a farmer cultivating at least one hectare of land under winter grain crops will receive 60,000 dram assistance
The minister said the money is allocated for effective use of arable land, increasing the level of grain production, the efficiency of subsidies to farmers and also to mitigate the disproportional development of regions.
The minister said this is a pilot project, which is expected to increase the cultivation of unused fertile lands, improve its quality, increase GDP, incomes of rural economies, reduce the volume of imported grain crops and increase self-sufficiency. ($ 1-485.09 dram). -0-
