French Betrancour plans to launch operation in Armenia

Armenia’s economic development and investment minister Suren Karayan met today with senior executive of Betrancour, a French company that specializes in the production of working and personal protective cloths.

Armenia’s economic development and investment minister Suren Karayan met today with senior executive of Betrancour, a French company that specializes in the production of working and personal protective cloths. The company is known under the brands ALLMER, GUY LEROY, NORTHMEN. According to a ministry press release, the French company plans to launch operation in Armenia
During the meeting, a Betrancour representative Michael Nokaert noted that the company intends to cooperate with two Armenian light industry companies and begin a trial production in the near future. Representatives of the French company are in Armenia on a three-day visit and visited earlier Vanadzor and Gyumri to see the products of local producers.
"It was very important for us to make sure that this sector is a priority for your government. Your country has a good history in the field of light industry and we want to develop it and improve the Armenian production," Nokaert was quoted as saying.
In turn, minister Karayan stressed that the government in every way promotes local light industry companies to expand their activities and create new jobs. "We will also be consistent in resolving the issue of personnel training. I want to note that we fully support you and you will not encounter any obstacles in Armenia," Karayan said.
According to the National Statistical Service, Armenian garment companies produced last year 11.5 billion drams worth products. ($ 1 - 482.57 drams). -0-
