"The congress is composed of four parts: an exhibition of products, a conference that will discuss light industry’s problem, marketing and promotion master-classes and a fashion week", - said Manukova. According to her, 20 local and 17 foreign manufacturers have arrived in Yerevan to participate in the congress. Buyers from Russia, Georgia and Kazakhstan are also here.
"Armenian textile goods are well positioned to enter the international market, the problem is in the raw materials and skilled personnel. Currently, we are working to set up effective logistics and train qualified personnel," - Manukova said.
She noted that during the congress Armenian manufacturers are expected to sign contracts with peers form Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Korea for supplies of raw materials.
"If we succeed in establishing effective logistics, Armenian goods will be able to compete with Turkish and Chinese goods. In the meantime, Atex fashion center in cooperation with UNIDO started a staff training program for this industry", - said Manukova.
The congress is a joint initiative of Signum consulting firm, Atex fashion center and the Russian Ural Chamber of Commerce. -0-
