EEU extends threshold of duty-free import of goods by individuals for another six months
YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has extended the threshold of duty-free import of goods by individuals for another six months, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) spokesperson Iya Malkina said on Thursday following a meeting of the EEC Council.
Until October 1 this year the threshold of duty-free import of goods by individuals will be 1000 euros and 31 kilograms for goods transported by carrier or by mail, imported by luggage by all means of transport, except by air, or on foot.
If the value of goods exceeds this amount or their weight is more than 31 kg, a duty of 15% of the value, but not less than 2 euro per 1 kg will be due.
Previously, the threshold was 200 euros for goods transported by carrier or by mail, and 500 euros for goods imported by luggage by all means of transport, except by air or on foot.
The decision will take effect in 10 days from the date of publication and will apply to legal relations arising from April 1. --0--
