EDB considers investing $165 mln in Armenian projects in 2024
YEREVAN. December 14. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is considering the possibility of investing $165 mln. in Armenian projects in 2024, EDB Senior Managing Director Denis Ilyin said at a press conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
"There are several other quite serious projects under consideration, each of which is worth up to $100 million. We are scrutinizing them now. Our activity in Armenia will remain at least at the level of $100 million," Ilyin said.
He also noted that two projects- creation of a transport and logistics center in Armenia's second-largest city of Gyumri and construction of the Achapnyak metro station in Yerevan are under consideration.
"However, the landmark project the bank is considering is the construction of the World Trade Center in the center of Yerevan. A megaproject for the city and I think our participation in it is also important. We are looking at it very carefully," he said.
EDB Board Chairman Nikolay Podguzov said that the list of projects, which are likely to be financed by the bank in Armenia includes projects in the energy sector, including renewable energy, Yerevan Metro reconstruction, development of Yerevan's urban infrastructure.
