Constitutional Court of Armenia has upheld the contested provisions of Energy Law following the revocation of ENA's license
YEREVAN, March 13. /ARКА/. The Constitutional Court of Armenia has upheld the contested provisions of the Energy Law.
At its meeting on November 17, 2025, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) approved the revocation of ENA's electricity distribution license (capacity). Following this, opposition MPs appealed to the Constitutional Court to discuss the article of the Energy Law that authorizes the Public Services Regulatory Commission to revoke or grant licenses, based on their compliance with the constitution.
"On March 10, the Constitutional Court completed its review of the case regarding the constitutionality of certain provisions of the laws 'On Energy' and 'On the Public Services Regulatory Commission' following an appeal by a group of National Assembly MPs," the Constitutional Court stated.
The Constitutional Court's opinion states that several provisions in the laws "On Energy" and "On the Commission Regulating Public Services" are constitutional.
The court also stated that this decision is final and enters into force upon publication, adding that the remaining parts of the case have been dismissed.
"The full text of the Constitutional Court's decision will be published in accordance with the established procedure within three days," the Constitutional Court's statement noted.
