Armenian taxpayers’ opinion about tax officers improved

A team of independent expert of the World Bank conducted a survey among taxpayers in Armenia as part of a program designed to modernize the tax administration, the State Revenue Committee said.

A team of independent expert of the World Bank conducted a survey among taxpayers in Armenia as part of a program designed to modernize the tax administration, the State Revenue Committee said. It said the survey was conducted to learn what taxpayers thought of the services provided by the State Revenue Committee (SRC).
According to survey results, due to the automation of tax administration, business’ expenses reduced, and the time needed for communication with tax authorities decreased. Nevertheless, 77% of respondents support cooperation with tax authorities and receiving risk notifications.
Data analysis showed that 75.5% of entrepreneurs welcome the separation of services from tax audits. At the same time, 98.1% of taxpayers participating in the survey were positive about the implementation of an electronic reporting system, and 96.1% rated the system for issuing electronic settlement documents.
At the same time, 85.3% of taxpayers would like to receive services from tax authorities in the future through mobile applications.
The results of a survey conducted in 2018 compared with the results of a similar survey conducted in 2016 show a significant improvement in the perception by taxpayers of the tax administration. According to 72.7% of businessmen, the behavior of SRC employees has changed for the better. -0-
