YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. Armenian online trading companies are ready to handle more online ordering of foods and other essentials, heads of about a dozen online trading companies said today during a meeting with high technology industry minister Hakob Arshakyan.
According to the press service of the government, the meeting participants discussed the growing online trade in a state of emergency, the problems that arose as a result and possible solutions.
"In particular, they noted that in the context of the state of emergency declared to prevent the spread of coronavirus, online trading volumes increased, in some cases up to 50%, especially orders for food, fruits and vegetables," the ministry said in a statement.
Representatives of the companies also assured that with the available resources they can fully satisfy the orders received, in some cases even in the regions.
They also voiced the need for the introduction of modern electronic tax systems and the need for localization of sites. During the meeting, they also discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the national postal operator HayPost CJSC, including the prospects for the delivery of essentials by using the company's regional network.
