YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. At an extraordinary meeting today Armenia’s National Assembly has passed in the second and final reading a string of amendments to the law "On Customs Regulations".
According to outgoing economy minister Artsvik Minasyan, the changes have been developed to facilitate customs burden for small importers.

"In particular, the import of goods worth up to 200 euros is exempted from customs duties,’ he explained.
He added that the changes eliminate also a mandatory requirement that importers should use the services of customs brokers.

According to Minasyan, thanks to these changes, each entrepreneur will save 6,500 drams on customs clearance and 10-15 thousand drams on customs broker’s services.

According to preliminary estimates, the changes will reduce the tax burden on small entities by 220 million drams opening also new opportunities for SMEs. ($ 1 - 473.42 drams). -0-
