Armenian Kapan hosts Iranian exhibition and business conference
YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. The Kapan Cultural Center in Armenia's southern province of Syunik is hosting an exhibition showcasing Iran's Aras free economic zone (FEZ). The event has brought together officials and businessmen from Armenia and Iran.
Kapan Mayor Gevork Parsyan and Iranian Consul General in Armenia Morteza Abedin Varamin spoke at the opening of the event the day before, the Kapan administration said in a Facebook post.
"Such conferences and exhibitions, and I would like to mention the Aras Expo 2023 international exhibition held in Iranian Tabriz in February, serve as a very important platform for the business communities of both countries to discuss opportunities and challenges, to outline what should be done to deepen cooperation," Parsyan said.
He said the conference is expected to contribute to the expansion of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between the business communities of the two sides. Parsyan added that the Kapan City Hall is ready to discuss any realistic and constructive proposals.
A video about the opportunities of the Aras Free Economic Zone was shown, after which the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Iranian products presented at the exhibition.
A year ago, in May 2022, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Armenian Meghri and Iranian Aras free economic zone. It envisages a simplified access of Iranian investors from Aras FEZ to Meghri FEZ and vice versa. --0-
