Armenian customs officers prevent smuggling of 62 kg of silver

Armenian customs officers at the Bagratashen checkpoint on the border with Georgia prevented an attempt by a bus driver to smuggle in 62 kg of silver, the State Revenue Committee said.
YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. Armenian customs officers at the Bagratashen checkpoint on the border with Georgia prevented an attempt by a bus driver to smuggle in 62 kg of silver, the State Revenue Committee said.
It said the silver was found after checking a bus driven by S. G. It said although the driver denied that he had goods in the bus subject to declaration, customs officers had suspicions that the driver could have goods hidden from customs control.
During a more detailed inspection, a mass similar to silver with a total weight of 62 kg was found in the trunk compartment provided for spare parts. The driver said that the goods belonged to him, but refused to give explanations. -0-
