Armenian customs officers disclose 159 cases of violations of customs rules

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has disclosed 71 cases of violations of customs rules in June-August of this year, including 10 cases when goods were brought to Armenia from the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member countries.
YEREVAN, August 24, /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has disclosed 71 cases of violations of customs rules in June-August of this year, including 10 cases when goods were brought to Armenia from the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member countries. According to a SRC press release, 29 cases involved smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances.
Overall, since the beginning of the year 159 cases of violation of customs regulations have been disclosed, 23 of them involved goods from EEU and 63 - drugs and psychotropic substances.
The customs officers have also thwarted attempts of illegal transportation of various goods, including gold and silver jewelry, cosmetics, equipment, smartphones, construction materials, medical equipment, agricultural goods, food and household appliances. Attempts were also made to transport non-declared or not fully declared goods in caches in vehicles.-0-
