YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. In comments on Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visits to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan last week, Aleksandr Iskandaryan, the head of the Yerevan-based Caucasus Institute, questioned Azerbaijan’s prospects of supplying gas to Germany.
Iskandaryan described talk about Azerbaijan’s perspective delivery of natural gas to Europe and Germany, in particular, as ‘information bubble.’ ‘Talks on oil and gas are not serious as Azerbaijan’s reserve are not sufficient for delivering it to Europe,’ Iskandaryan said.
"Prospects of gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Germany are not real. It is economically unprofitable, and besides insufficient reserves there are no transportation facilities," Iskandaryan said.
As for Germany's relations with another neighbor of Armenia, Turkey, Iskandaryan believes that the relations between Armenia and Turkey are extremely complicated, but they were not discussed during Angela Merkel’s visit to Armenia.
"Turkey now has extremely complicated relations with everyone and the famous formula of former Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu ‘zero problems with neighbors” has turned into "zero neighbors without problems,’ said Iskandaryan. -0-
