Armenia's domestic trade upped 24.5% in the first five months of 2023 from the same time span of 2022 to over 1.8 trillion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee reported.

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Armenia's domestic trade upped 24.5% in the first five months of 2023 from the same time span of 2022 to over 1.8 trillion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee reported.

It said in May 2023 alone the domestic trade grew by almost 29% from May 2022 to 428.5 million drams.

It said the retail trade amounted to over 628.8 billion drams, up 4.4% from the first 5 months of 2022. The wholesale trade grew by 37.3% to over 1.1 trillion drams. Sales of vehicles raised about 91 billion drams growing by 56% year-on-year.

Stores accounted for 81.6% of the retail trade or over 513 billion drams showing 6.7% y-o-y growth. Consumer goods markets accounted for 4.1% of the total or about 25.8 billion drams having slashed by 4.1%.

Farmer markets accounted for about 1% of the total or over 5.8 billion drams. Their share grew by 1% from the first 5 months of 2022.

Kiosk trade dropped by 5.3% to 1.5% of the total or over 9.2 billion drams. Other trade outlets dropped by 4% to about 75 billion drams or 12% of the total. ($1 – 386.28 drams) -0-
