Armenia and Iran intend to deepen cooperation in agricultural sector

Establishment of Armenian-Iranian quarantine checkpoint and other issues of cooperation in the agricultural sphere were discussed at the meeting of Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Ashken Shirvanyan with an  Iranian delegation, which includes representatives of state and private companies engaged in cattle breeding, poultry farming, beekeeping and fodder production.

YEREVAN, February 22. /ARKA/. Establishment of Armenian-Iranian quarantine checkpoint and other issues of cooperation in the agricultural sphere were discussed at the meeting of Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Ashken Shirvanyan with an Iranian delegation, which includes representatives of state and private companies engaged in cattle breeding, poultry farming, beekeeping and fodder production.

The sides discussed the most promising issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture, in particular, opening of breeding centers for pedigree cattle, joint production of vaccines, construction of a quarantine point for transit transportation of cattle and veterinary examination.

The regulation of import of dairy products to Armenia from Iran was also discussed.

As Shirvanyan noted, the reached agreements on issues of mutual interest will become a solid basis for practical measures to expand bilateral cooperation. --0--
