Armenia Airways resumes regular flights to Tehran

Armenia Airways airline is resuming today regular flights from the capital of Armenia Yerevan to Tehran, the airline said in a Facebook post.
YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Armenia Airways airline is resuming today regular flights from the capital of Armenia Yerevan to Tehran, the airline said in a Facebook post.
Citing security reasons, earlier Armenia's Civil Aviation Committee recommended that all Armenia-registered airlines suspend flights in the airspace of Iraq and Iran.
The Armenia Airways said it appealed to the Iranian Embassy in Armenia and received guarantees of flight safety over the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Yerevan-Tehran-Yerevan flight was scheduled to take place on January 12, but was canceled for security reasons.
Iran on Saturday admitted its military accidentally shot down a Ukrainian airliner near Tehran airport. The plane, a Boeing 737 operated by Ukrainian International Airlines, went down on the outskirts of Tehran during take-off on Wednesday morning. All 176 on board were killed. The plane was flying to the Ukrainian capital of Kiev.-0-
