Armenia will be granted duty-free quota for import of 15,000 electric vehicles in 2026
YEREVAN, December 11. /ARКА/. The Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, announced that Armenia will receive a duty-free quota for importing 15,000 electric vehicles in 2026.
"This decision was reached during a meeting of the EAEU prime ministers, which included Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan," Papoyan shared on his Facebook page.
The Armenian Parliament has approved changes to the Tax Code in the first reading, which will extend the VAT exemption for both individuals and legal entities importing electric vehicles for an additional year.
The relevant amendments to the Tax Code were passed in the first reading by parliament. The new regulation is set to take effect from 2026 for vehicles with electric motors that are manufactured after December 31, 2023 (i.e., production in 2024, 2025, and 2026).-0-
