YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. Armenia's capital market will continue to develop rapidly and could become an additional driver of economic growth, Ameriabank's Director of Retail Banking, Arman Barseghyan, expressed this opinion at a press conference on Tuesday.

"The capital market in Armenia is developing, especially in bonds. Growth is also observed in other securities, driven by a number of factors," he said.

According to Barseghyan, the country's economy is becoming more transparent, businesses are gradually emerging from the shadow economy, and the quality of corporate reporting is improving. He cited these processes as key factors for capital market development.

Barseghyan also noted the emergence of domestic demand for investment instruments amid economic growth and rising incomes for some of the population.

"A segment of citizens with significant savings is emerging, ready to invest in various capital market instruments." "Demand creates supply, and more and more companies are attracting debt financing through capital market instruments," he noted.

He believes this trend will continue, and further development of the capital market could contribute to Armenia's economic growth.

Barseghyan reported that as of June 30, 2026, Ameriabank's bond portfolio amounted to 160 billion drams.

In 2026, Ameriabank fully placed its first perpetual bonds, totaling $100 million. According to the bank, the bonds were issued in two tranches—in February and April.
