YEREVAN, January 19. /ARКА/. The Armenian Ministry of Economy has revealed its intention to import liquefied natural gas from Russia through Azerbaijan.

"Armenia is facing challenges in importing liquefied natural gas at present. The primary factors contributing to this issue are the sources of supply from Iran and Russia. For Iran, the limitations stem from well-known circumstances, whereas for Russia, the complications arise from the situation at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border," reported the Armenian Public Television, referencing the Ministry of Economy.

The ministry emphasized that the issue will be addressed shortly, as it will soon be feasible to transport Russian liquefied natural gas to Armenia by rail via Azerbaijan.-0-
