Majority of Yerevan residents oppose paid parking price hike

A survey conducted among the residents of Armenia's capital city Yerevan by the Armenian office of the Gallup International Association has revealed that the majority were opposed to the municipality's plan to raise the price of paid parking on the streets.

Yerevan’s Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan argued today that Municipality’s intention to triple the prices for paid parking on those parts of the city's streets, which are marked by red lines is not to seek additional revenues, but to regulate the traffic in the downtown.

Paid parking areas in Yerevan to be differentiated

The Armenian National Assembly’s Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Governments, Agriculture,and Environmental Protection on Wednesday approved a draft law, which proposes to change the color of paid parking areas, as well as to revise the size of the payment.
