Armenian government promises to establish direct links between universities and enterprises

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today the reforms in education sector will ensure direct links between universities and enterprises. Presenting to lawmakers his government’s plan of actions for 2013-2017, the premiere said this will enable universities to train high-quality specialists meeting the demands of the market.
YEREVAN, May 20. / ARKA /. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today the reforms in education sector will ensure direct links between universities and enterprises. Presenting to lawmakers his government’s plan of actions for 2013-2017, the premiere said this will enable universities to train high-quality specialists meeting the demands of the market.
He reminded of two-government designed programs for young people- one is to help young families to buy apartments and the second- cars. He said both programs will be continued this year as well.
The new Armenian government was formed on May 8. Earlier chief of the government staff. Vache Gabrielian, said the government’s plan of actions will focus on five major directions- safe and secure Armenia, creation of new jobs with far wages, free and just Armenia, human capital and institutional development.
The plan of actions calls also for doubling the minimum wage, cutting poverty rate by 8-10 percent a year, creation of 100,000 new jobs and securing growth in pensions and increasing the share of taxes in the overall GDP. -0-
