Trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia grows 1.6% to over $45 mln
YEREVAN, July 20. /ARKA/. Trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia climbed by 1.6% to $45 million in January-May of 2012 from the same period last year, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
Export to Georgia jumped by 78.4% to nearly $33.1 million ( about 5.8% of the total export) in Jan-May of this year from the same period a year earlier.
Import of Georgian products to Armenia dropped by 52.2% to $12.6 million (0.7% of the total import). In general, import from Georgia totaled around $85.3 million (slip by 16.8%) or 5% of the total import.
According to the statistics, the turnover with Georgia made up 2% in the total foreign trade turnover of Armenia.
Total foreign trade turnover of Armenia advanced by 9% to nearly $2239,5 million in Jan-May from the same period a year earlier. Export volume was $561.7 million, and import- $1677,8 million. ($1 – 411.89 drams). -0-
