Alam presents new WB regional director to Armenian PM

Asad Alam, Regional Director of South Caucasus Country Department of Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank introduced his successor Henry Kerali to Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on Wednesday as he is putting down his working duties, the government reported to ARKA.

YEREVAN, June 21. /ARKA/. Asad Alam, Regional Director of South Caucasus Country Department of Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank introduced his successor Henry Kerali to Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on Wednesday as he is putting down his working duties, the government reported to ARKA. 

Alam told Sargsyan that the bilateral cooperation between the World Bank and the government of Armenia was on a high level and due to this they have implemented a number of programs.

He also thanked the Prime Minister for his role in fostering this cooperation. 

Alam also congratulated Sargsyan on re-lection as a head of Armenian government as well as victory of the Republican Party on May 6 parliamentary elections

On his side, Sargsyan highlighted that the World Bank and the government of Armenia have achieved significant results throughout their recent cooperation. 

“We have reported progress in many spheres where we implemented joint programs, and we don’t have any failed projects,” Sargsyan said and commended Alam’s contribution to this fact. 

Newly appointed Regional Director of South Caucasus Country Department of Europe and Central Asia Region Henry Kerali, on his side, expressed readiness to continue fostering further cooperation with Armenian government. The officials also discussed issues related to joint projects. -0-
